To receive professional attention and service you should be prepared to pay our fee.
Please do not request a site inspection if not prepared to cover our ESR inspection fee.
Confirmed customers and
established accounts
are requested to make an appointment at least 10 days prior to the pickup/packing date.
To secure our professional export packers
we recommend sending your pre-shipment deposit to Sefco
at least 2 weeks before packing/pickup is to occur.

"Last minute" pickup requests (deposit received less than 5 days before pickup)
may incur an extra rush-order, short-notice surcharge.
Our professional export packers require advance lead time, to schedule a pickup date.
Pickups requiring a time specific appointment within a particular day or evening
are called "specials" in the
trucking industry and cost more than a standard pickup (done according to the truckers normal routing and scheduling.)

Pre-Shipment Commercial Inspections - Container Purchasing Service
Commercial services customers: Sefco acts as your
purchasing agent,
for the selection and procurement of steel ocean shipping containers.
Containers are bought/sold on an "as is/where is" basis. We strongly
recommend that the container buyer go directly and in person to the
container yard (we will specify exact location) to pre-inspect the
container. Normally, we will identify three ocean containers - each with its own
identification number - and you/the buyer will choose the best one from the three.
Our normal terms and conditions states our agreement concerning the buyers option to
directly pre-inspect their purchase. To read the terms of our basic agreement,

Sefco offers an added value service, where
we will dispatch our own personnel to the container yard (often near the major ports)
to see the 3-select containers in person. Upon request, our surveying agent/inspector
will take several digital photos of the best looking containers and will email these to you
right away so you can make your own selection (off site) based on our photos and
"export survey report".
Containers are inspected for obvious damage, and smaller pin holes.
Our ESR's are informal guides and constitute advice only; no warrantees or guarantees are implied.
Cost: $175 (per inspection) Normally everything is accomplished in one visit.

This company does not contract for "load only labor" or "local moves".

may not be for everyone. Sefco does not engage in low-balled bidding
wars with local movers with uncertain labor practices.
Our O/A origin agents - export packers
are completely insured and professional.
Labor teams are dispatched from our OA Export Packing warehouses, permanent facilities
with full service backup, all export packaging materials, and all legal/required business coverages.
You can still be our customer, and "do it yourself."
A client is free to make their own arrangements concerning origin packing and loading
(labor). We will work with you.

Personnel can not be dispatched to a job site before a deposit is received.

professional export packaging agent, costs money.

This will allow our office to provide proper attention and care to your account.
You probably do not need to order the survey report if you
plan to go the PBO-pack by owner route. You can self-evaluate your needs based on the size
of the container being used for your shipment (20-ft, 40-ft or other).

Should you be so inclined to call in many moving company representatives,
that is your prerogative.
However, Sefco Export is a specialty service provider and good reliable
service does not come free.
Please feel free to share with our office a copy of any 3rd party survey
report that you may have - if you do not opt to prepay for our own
professional ESR surveyor's fee. We can easily analyze any 3rd party survey report
and provide an opinion.
You should already be a Sefco customer
(deposit received) for us to dispatch personnel to a pickup site.
If you are not already an existing Sefco customer,
please pay in advance for the export surveyor fee.
For a knowledgeable export surveyor to come to a private residence
and create a detailed survey report, expect a charge of $ 175.00
(depending on location) to be prepaid.
Our origin / export surveyors dispatch from our CFS/warehouse locations
which are generally
located in most major metropolitan areas.
For origin sites further than 35 miles from our bases of operations
(ie., 150 miles from any major city) please inquire as to the extra cost.
The ESR-Export Survey Report fee is non-refundable.
However, if you subsequently use
Sefco for your export packing/shipping,
deduct this fee from our export packaging bill.
Special features:
In some locations (please ask) a digital photographic record
will be made to document the condition of certain fragile,
unique or expensive items - taken prior to the export packaging.
Reports are methodologically prepared, often starting at the front door
and moving room by room. Those items receiving special
export packaging, crating or handling will therefore
have a permanent record which can be used for
insurance inventory purposes.
It is an independently generated professional report.
Pre-Export Inspection Services
...use as a planning tool.
The ESR-export survey report can be a very useful tool for
governmental or other corporate accounts needing to
independently confirm conditions at a site, using a reliable 3rd party report.
An officer of an international agency or Mission
can be given a realistic and reasonably accurate account of what exists
(weight/measure, special requirements for task)
to compare to any government or corporate allowance.
Reliable information will help an account to properly budget and plan for
an upcoming - or contemplated - international operation.
The account is not obligated to use Sefco Export to arrange
for the overseas shipment. The ESR-export survey report can be a "stand alone" service.
FYI: An average total "piece count" for 1 x 20-ft container of
household goods/personal effects can average @ 120-150 pieces.
For a 40-ft container, it's double that number.
Therefore, a true and accurate formal
ESR-export survey report
entails creation of a comprehensive and
reasonably accurate examination.
Overseas door to door moving is not the same things as a local move.
They are totally different operations.
Pricing: Local mover estimates may rely on unskilled
"raw" labor which is contracted for, by the hour. Local movers are not export packers or
international agents. Sefco Export does not arrange local moves.
We cater to export/import operations, moves that cross an international border.
If someone needs to contract for "labor to load goods only", that is
strictly between the local mover and the property owner.

On the other hand, maybe you do not need an ESR-export survey report.
Are you planning to use a 20-ft or 40-ft container for your own exclusive-use?
Sending household goods?
If you opt to "PBO-pack by owner" your goods,
"origin services" are a separate matter.
In that case, if you self pack and load the 20-ft or 40-ft FCL container -
then as long as your goods can fit inside the container - it's your property -
and it is non-hazardous, then it's one basic rate - confirmed in writing by our office
- for transport services without labor.
We do not need to survey goods that will not be export-packaged by our origin packing agents.
With or without our P-premium packing service...
You can still be a Sefco Export customer for the basic shipping/handling services.
